What is HypeFolk?
HypeFolk is a mobile-first platform that connects brands with local Taskers across Africa for verified physical brand placement. Brands post tasks, Taskers execute and submit photo proof, and our AI verifies everything.
How does verification work?
Our multi-stage AI pipeline checks every submission for image quality, GPS accuracy, brand visibility, duplicate detection, spoof prevention, and content safety. Submissions that pass AI review are approved instantly; borderline cases go to human reviewers.
Which countries are supported?
HypeFolk currently operates in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda. We are expanding to additional African markets soon.
How do Taskers get paid?
Taskers receive payment directly to their local bank account once a submission is approved. We support Paystack for Nigerian bank transfers, with M-Pesa and Flutterwave coming soon for other markets.
What kind of tasks are available?
Tasks include placing branded materials like posters, flyers, and stickers at specific locations such as retail stores, markets, and public venues. Each task specifies the requirements, location zone, and payment amount.
How does AI verification work?
Our AI pipeline uses YOLOv8 for brand detection, pHash/dHash for duplicate checks, FFT analysis for spoof detection, EXIF metadata validation, GPS polygon matching, and a content safety classifier. Each stage produces a weighted score that determines the final decision.
